What does female entrepreneurship sound like?

UNIZO Limburg connects entrepreneurs and ZINNIG connects through words – a perfect match that resulted in the campaign Frontvrouwen in Ondernemen (Women at the Forefront of Entrepreneurship). For this project, ten trailblazing women stepped out of their daily routines and into the spotlight. And ZINNIG slipped backstage for interviews.

The Challenge

How can we highlight female entrepreneurship in 2023-24?

UNIZO Limburg helps unite and empower women entrepreneurs by organising networking events, keynotes, and dinners where they can exchange experiences, ideas, and phone numbers to build a stronger network. When asked if we could create a campaign to showcase this, our answer was a resounding yes. You’ve come to the right place!

Creative back-and-forth

A campaign for female entrepreneurship has to stand out. It has to shine. During our internal brainstorming session, the ideas flowed like water. Ten women entrepreneurs, blockbuster-style. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Cooking, travelling, sports. One thing was clear: the visuals had to pack a punch. We thought in terms of both words and images. After a creative back-and-forth session with the UNIZO team, we settled on music as the main theme. The longer we thought about it, the clearer the link with the business world became. From opera singers to rock stars and everything in between. Klara Vandenbosch moves the crowd like a rapper and a storyteller. DJ Barbara Dreesen keeps the records spinning every day at Publilemon. Loes Kesters is a modern rockstar who always knows how to strike the right chord.

Rocking the rooftops

With the theme set, we just kept on brainstorming. Slogans, shoot locations, outfit ideas, playlists, interview guidelines: we really sunk our teeth into this project! On a sunny evening in June, ZINNIG headed to the roof terrace of the UNIZO office in Hasselt to interview ten fascinating women. With all that female energy, the vibe was incredible. The outcome? Ten powerful stories by real entrepreneurs. With extra copy for the website and social media, and a campaign close to our hearts – not just because ZINNIG is run by five women (and a dog).

The Result

Positive feedback and a renewed sense of purpose

What started as a creative challenge for us turned into a campaign that hit all the right notes for UNIZO. One with great rhythm and style. The response was overwhelmingly positive, from the business community to the participants themselves, who developed a strong bond during the project. On a provincial level, the campaign highlighted UNIZO’s work and brought a renewed sense of purpose to the organisation. Fresh copy, full speed ahead!
