Limburg has long since shed its reputation as an economic underdog. As the economic development agency for the provincial government, POM Limburg helps businesses across the province grow and prepare for the future. It does so through strategic investment, the redevelopment of industrial sites, and the creation of thriving campuses. Our part in that mission? Strategic, creative writing that brings Limburg’s strengths to the attention of audiences around the world.
THE CHALLENGE
How do we make each project resonate with its audience without losing sight of the bigger picture?
Shaping plans for emerging economic hotspots, developing business parks and knowledge campuses, gathering and sharing objective data, delivering its own projects while supporting others, and attracting international companies and scientific programmes: POM covers a lot of ground. With so much to communicate, POM needs to reach a wide range of people: entrepreneurs, policymakers, scientists, and investors, both in Belgium and abroad. But how do you keep the bigger picture in view while making every message resonate with the people it needs to reach?
THE APPROACH
Ever heard of the Einstein Telescope? POM wants to bring this ambitious project to the Meuse-Rhine region and give its economy a powerful boost. But other regions have set their sights on it too. To make a strong case with European decision-makers, the bid needs support closer to home. Businesses, residents, students, and other stakeholders all have a part to play. That’s why POM organised two exhibitions in recent years. ZINNIG wrote the panel texts with potential visitors in mind: engaging, accessible, and 100% technically accurate.
The Einstein Telescope is just one part of a much bigger story. We also write white papers on cobots and Quick Response Manufacturing, brochures about attracting international talent and Clean Mobility Valley, guides for strategic growth and effective economic policy, and final reports for programmes such as Boost Bouw Limburg. It’s a lot to cover. A framework agreement keeps the partnership running smoothly, while a clear brief gives each project its focus. In our meetings, POM sets out the audience, content, tone, and deadline; we turn that direction into copy that works.
Getting everyone on the same page
The biggest challenge is making all the different voices sound like one. Engineers, politicians, researchers, and business leaders all have their own style and jargon. ZINNIG turns those contributions into one coherent story. Copy that flows, makes sense to its intended audience, and keeps the substance intact. We choose technical terms carefully, reveal complex ideas in logical layers, and keep the tone of voice consistent, whether we’re writing the original Dutch copy or translating it into English.
THE RESULT
All roads lead to Limburg
When a subject gets complicated, we get curious. We talk to the people closest to it, do the extra research, and find the clearest way through. For bigger publications, such as white papers and annual reports, we build a strong structure before we move on to the writing. Limburg’s economic transformation didn’t happen overnight. But the way forward is clear. POM is paving it with strategies, plans, and projects, while ZINNIG helps point the way with words that explain, persuade, and connect. In short, a partnership that turns today’s plans into tomorrow’s opportunities for Limburg.
‘We’ve worked with ZINNIG on a wide range of communications projects over the years. They know how to get to the heart of complex subjects and make them clear, accessible, and engaging for different audiences while striking the right tone.’
